[WIP] - Realistic Falling Flowgraph
Welcome to today's news update featuring a brand new asset currently in development here on Crymod. Forum member and flowgrapher MC Swadla has recently expanded his collection of realism assets, which previously included such interesting assets as a toilet and hunger system, with this latest asset which is a realistic falling flowgraph. This works by putting the player into a ragdoll state to increase the realism of the fall, and currently works for both third and first person, complete with sound.
Video Demonstration
The developer has kindly recorded three videos demonstrating the currrent progress of this asset, including a video for both third and first person perspective, as well as a third video for audio.
To see more of this interesting asset or offer feedback on what you've seen here today, please use the forum thread found here.

Indeed. I don't see why somebody would want to use this FG

How does the player stand up? There are no animations for that sort of thing. I like the idea though

I would use it, usually people wave their arms around to keep them upright, ever gone of a jump on ski's, roller blades or snowoard and start doing windmills? (Waving your arms forwards or backwards in a circle) Or seen someone doing windmills? Its a reaction to keep your feet under you. I think its better than the other crysis falling animation where you go on your belly, if you fell out of an airplane would you go into skydiving mode and stay still? Don't think so. Nice work with all the fg's.

+1
And I'll add that involuntary arm rotation happens on a trampoline too. Ever suddenly been flung in the air by a friend jumping right in front of you on one, causing you to fly higher than you can normally jump? It's the same principal for any unordinary/unfamiliar falling or rising distance.
So I'll end this with great work with the idea and animations; it's WIP so I'm not expecting perfected presentations here

camrea looks a bit wibbly at times, but i agree, people probably would flail there arms like that if they we somehow spawned 100m above land.

I really like the idea.
but sould only be used when the player is making an uncontrolled jump. im not sure if theres a way to tell difference.
but the normal fall is good when making controlled jump
this fall is excellent when you push someone of a ledge or they loose their footing of a mounting.

Great idea, but seems a bit strange. I really can't work out why though.

I do think the arms are waving just alittle to much. The camera could make some players nauseous.
Nice work and idea so far.
