NEW - Torch/Flashlight Weapon - Download Ready


--WIP--

This is a beta version of my Torch/Flashlight weapon.

it is low poly at only 250 polys

click on the pics to make them larger


Here is a short video to show you how it works ingame, and the settings that the flashlight has



Second to this acting as a standalone weapon, Me and callofduty511 have been trying to make the flashlight as an attachment to a gun that Nomad will then hold SWAT stylie


unfortunately, whilst we were able to get the on_layer animation to play, the off_layer animation does not Crying


so any help on that would be much appreciated

nice work man. If I remember correctly Fortran had the same problem with his Barret. He wanted to lower the sights when the scope was on. It went OK but when you detached the scope the sights didn't go back up. I think it was a c++ problem. I'll try to find the topic again.

Great ! Cool stuff ! I had the same idea ... but I don't tried to make it ! Anyway I hadn't manage it , I am sure ...Well, no more to say than, looks great !
And it is a good addition to just a Flachlight on the weapon ! Thats maybe a bit to boring !

Is it modeled as an attachment to the pistol? If not or so make the model invisible but the light still shine.

what colours would you like? - a green to kinda fake a night vision torch?

- it will be released shortly within City Assault 2 as it will be helpful for when looking around the city at night, and then a few weeks after that mod, i'll release it just as a seperate download
- i havent fully tested its 3rd person capabilities, but at current it looks more like a very bright blooming circle on the screen. so it wont really help the player in a 3rd person mod, but it will show up as something if the AI have one, or you're playing an IA map
- it doesnt have the same power as a knife - but you can use it as a melee weapon

Can you make a quick tutorial on how you did this? Also, if it's possible to dual-wield a pistol and flashlight then would it also be possible to dual-wield a pistol and knife so you can have CQC?

its essentially just a weapon, so really you want the weapon tutorial

the flashlight is a 'SOCOM' with the firemodes changed to melee, and the actual light is an edited LAM xml that acts as an attachment with invisible geometry

as for the CQC - i like the idea, but its not actually possible to dual-wield a pistol and flashlight, as the example shown above - the flashlight with the g19 is just acting as an attachment. I guess you could make a knife the attachment and have the left hand punch out when u need melee, but in the case of the knife being an attachment - u have to use the T melee button as opposed to the mouse buttons, and even then - we have had trouble with the layering of attachments effecting the positioning of the hand bones

how do you change the fire mode to melee? I found the following code block in the xml of the weapon:
