As Chain mods is currently taking a break from Lost Dimensions, i decided to challenge the team to create a SP map within 10 days.
They were well up for the challenge
The map we are working on is called: City Assault
The purpose of the map was to work for/with Rad15 and to create him an environment that would allow his Advanced AI to utilise the environment for tactical onslaughts and cover.
Therefore, the map will be released alongside his Advanced AI to show best how the AI can work in such suitable environments.
So within 10 days we need to model, texture, place models into map, terrain & texture, TOD and optimise for the 20th August.(though i have cheated as i created some of the models before this time lol) then Rad15 can add the AI navigation and it can be released to the crymod community.
We shall try to keep you updated every 1-2 of our progress.
the first release of the map will feature a mini survival type mission
then, for a later release, we hope to be able to create a Capture the Base styled flowgraph to make the map similar to those played in Battlefield2
Custom built City Buildings - only exterior but with lots of level and roof access for snipering and other tactics Custom built City props - to hide behind and throw at people
an underground subway station - for the under and over approach
lastly, im looking for ads to fill city props; like billboards, benchs, bus stops etc,
and instead of just using Crysis and Warhead ones,
so thought it would be a great opportunity to show some mod posters.
so if anyone would like to have their mod advertised, please PM me an Ad pic of their mod
preferably A4 ratio in portrait layout, or a banner pic and it cud replace the warhead poster :

I love the sound of roof access. Snipings always one of my favorite things to do
And Nikkeli, I'm pretty sure there'd be much less lag in a city, compared to the Crysis campaign levels.

lol it turns out that my buildings i made in Max for the inside of the playable area are about 2k-6k (plus a 20K and 30K) triangles each, which is less than the solid buildings that Marco made for the outside of the playable area, using SB solids.
If every building has a vis area placed over it, then that should stop lots of areas being rendered, so hopefully the FPS will be high

over the last two days Marco has improved upon the NK base as been improved, and a few areas of interest.
Crow has added more street props to the map and created the USA base and a few areas of interest.
i have textured 4 buildings (2 ingame below) and unwrapped 1 other, and created a fire escape staircase prop.
Richard_Uk has dirtied up the street props
