Lost World Returns - Update
The folks at Lost World Returns have brought us another update. They now have a few dinosaurs fully rigged and exported. Below are WIP images of these dinosaurs wandering around their map. In addition to that we can present you two animation videos, which show you for example an Albertosaurus run cycle and a T-Rex test video (both none in-game videos). Also there are two concept art pictures for the art fans available.
Ingame Screenshots:
Here, we have a group of Brachiosauruses in search of food.
This next shot is particularly interesting - it looks like the Brachiosauruses are going to mix it up with a couple Raptors.
Concept Art:
Here's a couple concept images.
Sample Videos:
They've also provided videos showing sample animations. Here's the Albertosaurus walk cycle.
Also, keep checking the forum thread, as they have promised a big update in the coming weeks.

The animation for the t-rex seems really off to me. He takes his step and as soon as he starts his next step hes already shifting his weight to the opposite side of the body. Which then when he steps hes already had shifted his weight.
People aren't even that heavy and we balance ourselfs very well in nature. I guess what i'm seeing is a floatyness to his walk. What you should do is lag his weight transfer. He comes down on a foot, the body meets the step and as hes going into his next step and he hits it the body is following behind into the step, not with it.
Also the whole crossing the legs into the middle thing. These animals were huge enormous pieces of muscled beasts. I don't think they have the finess of fine curvy woman. Actually I would agree how the Jurassic Park movie did the walk which was the legs were taking a step curved towards the body and then back away as it was stepping down. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGO7EHOuTwE) - 5:43-5:47. Makes it looks more lumbering and I think that would be a good example of a T-Rex.
And then the tail seems a little bland also. Give it some personality. The tails help with balance, so it should be moving in accordance to helping weight transfer. Have it doing something else then just side to side.
Everything for the t-rex seems like it was keyed exactly the same amount away from each other. Its very parallel, and I think you should try to break from that mold and get some randomness in the animation.

There is a way to do a T-Rex animation correctly, just watch the special features for Jurassic Park, it tells you, I know it but I am not going to tell you because you need to work for it lol. But it is simple.

Please remove the the Trex video and the two concept arts please :
Trex anim is an old work (first time i had to use maya also with a bad rig) and don't reflect at all the actual animation set
The concept have been done as personal training and research ,i show it on my blog but it's not official

I do have to agree, the animation on that dinosaur looks unatural.
The pictures look awesome however!
