RE: WIP - Oblivion to Crysis
Wow, they really do like nice, although not supprising considering the visual quality of Oblivion. What are you intending to do with this? It seems a little futile considering you can't release it? Why not try get a moddeler on board and make your own "Oblivion" type game ?

Great pictures!
So you are doing this level for yourself?
You'd better to make a mod...

The pictures are nice and all but...
Why show us screens when you can't release it..? It's basically like saying "Look what you could play, but you're not going to get to! Hahahahah!"
For some tips, you should increase the grass sprite distances as it looks terrible when you can see the sprites like 10 feet in front of you... It needs ALOT more detail; more terrain variation, stuff like that. The terrain needs to be setup to look more like Oblivion too. Of course, I realize that this is more or less just a 'proof of concept', but just some food for thought. Good luck.

I understand that this can be frustrating for some of you : I hesitated a long time before posting these pics. But I felt that I needed to show off "the power" of the Cryengine2 with some beautiful assets of a talented team (the oblivion engine is two years old now and was considered as the best engine out there at the time !), even if my mapping "talents" are far from par given the quality of the other mods from the community (I'm a complete newbie !).
Any tips will be warmly welcomed, trust me
!

I think your doing a good job so far, just need to keep working at it. I would strongly suggest asking a moddeler to maybe help you out in creating some "similar" looking copies of the Oblivion assets, doesn't need to be a mod (although it would be a nice one) but at least you could release the map when its finished that way.

you better stick to just showing off the pictures. I guess you took the assets from oblivion and export them into sb2? If so you really should not release that level at all since what you are doing is copyright infrignment and thus illegal

Well, if someone would volunteer in re-creating similar assets I bet this would be one hell of a level/mod

Hmm.. question: why create a Crysis - Oblivion mod instead of just creating an Oblivion mod? xD
A Crysis - Oblivion mod would be cool, but maybe a bit pointless?
(*Sigh* I love Oblivion.. *dream**drool**etc.*)

Hey, man really nice pics, Currently I'm working on an oblivion mod , too the prob is I have nobody that could help me, I love oblivion and crysis really and I think It's a must to create an oblivion mod, with the cryengine 2, it's a pitty you can't release these assets, they would look really nice in my map. Just one question how the hell did you export those nice models into the editor? I mean which proigram does convert them?

Wow, excellent work, too bad you can't release it. I agree with everyone else though. Make some "similer" versions of things and then you can release it.

Quite a surprising response from you Alex. I'm sure they'd be uproar if Crysis content made its way onto another engine, but rules change when its another companys work
Honestly it's not difficult to make buildings. Just do yourself a favour and give it a try, ripping content from other games is a pretty ****ty thing to do. I'm sure all developers would agree.
